A bit about the bee...I contacted Ashley for a new logo and brand concept. I wanted something whimsical, colorful and fun. So she came up with the idea of a honey bee because Melissa means "honey bee." Very clever! So I'd like to think of this cute little honey bee as the mascot for Melissa Laudick Photography. You'll see him buzzing around here a lot!

Aren’t they cute! Little hamburger cookies! I found the Betty Crocker recipe through one of my favorite blogs. They were very simple and fun to make. As one of the comments on the BC website mentioned, I used Oreo Fudge Cremes instead of York Peppermint Patties for the middle. It’s a perfect project for anyone with kids and they are sure to be a hit at your next cook out!

My dad managed to stuff my entire 2 year old into a 3-6 month onsie!
My parents were watching my kids since our babysitter was on vacation. Dad got Lily up in the morning and put the clothes on that he thought I laid out for her. He took her to the park and when they got home mom noticed that Lily was all hunched over as though her shirt wouldn’t allow her stand up straight. When she took the shirt off she discovered it was a 3-6 month size! We were getting ready for a yard sale so I had a few things laid out, which happens to be what my dad thought was set out for Lily.
I’m attempting to take a picture a day this year (I’ve missed a few here and there), so when mom told me about the outfit I knew I had to stuff Lily back into the shirt and get a picture! We were laughing about it and my mom said, “It almost looks a bit risque, don’t you think?”
- I laughed out loud reading this...my dad would probably do the same thing.
- That is the funniest thing ever. Gotta love Grandpas! And I love that you stuffed her BACK in to it for the photo op. I miss her terribly (and the rest of you, of course!) Hugs!
My days of buying all of those cute little girly outfits may be over.
- Yep. I think they're over...or at least you'll figure out that the Gymboree and Gap outfits never ever go outside. :) Wal-mart here you come!!! :)
Lily has been a really wonderful big sister. She is always very interested in Henry, “Henny wide awake…Henny not happy, Henny in mommy’s pouch (I often wear him in the baby sling when nothing else will calm him down). And when he’s crying she tries comforting him by saying, “ok buddy.” Here are a few pictures of Lily admiring Henry over the last 6 weeks…
- How sweet. Hopefully she will be that loving when they get older.
- Oh Melissa, I so needed this post. Did you post it just for me?... :) Look how big she is -- and even Henry -- he's growing like crazy! Look how sweet she is to him -- so precious!!! And lookie at all her hair! :) Hugs to everyone!

It’s official, we’ve hit the terrible twos! My once perfect little angel now makes EVERYTHING a battle. She’s very independent, and one of her popular phrases is “I dude it.” or “Lily dude it.” (Lily do it.) She used to be such a good eater and she is now becoming more and more picky. She has to have dip, sauce or cheese on everything. Today after making a scrambled egg (with cheese for good measures) and peas for lunch, she refused to eat any of it except a few pieces of stray cheese on the plate. So in steps Teddy, her beloved friend. Teddy would eat a bite and tell Mommy that he wanted Lily to have a bite. Well, after going back and forth between Teddy and Lily, before we knew it the entire egg and peas were gone! Oh, the games we mommy’s will play! I have to remind myself that this stage will soon pass, or so I can hope!
It’s rather unusual to have two photo sessions in one day in mid-January, but yesterday, despite the dreary weather, that’s what I had planned. My first session was with one of my favorite client families. Hudson has been featured several times on my blog and now he’s got his baby brother, Deacon, to share the spotlight. We went to the Franklin Park Conservatory and wow were there a lot of people! Apparently that’s the happening place to be for a winter holiday.

Next up was Urban, our friends’ little boy. He will be turning 4 next week and I had the honor of of capturing his sweet personality. We ventured outside with his adorable hat and mittens. My family is looking forward to his Play-Doh birthday party this weekend (his mommy always comes up with the most creative birthday party themes)!
- Melissa I love the pictures of the boys. They turned out great and I can't wait to see the rest. Urban's pictures great too. He is so adorable.
A little visit with Santa yesterday…
She may not look thrilled, but believe it or not, she liked him more than she did last year…
- She is so cute. Love her little dress. Maybe next year she will like him a little more.
- You know what I'm gonna say...OH MY WORD!!! She is too stinkin' cute. And the boo-boo lip from the side -- too much! And the outfit -- just precious! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for your Christmas card -- we'll be waiting... Love and miss you all!
